After the treatment, you can expect the treatment and donor site to be bruised, sore, and swollen. Your surgeon will give you detailed instructions to care for the treatment area, including staying away from the sun till the face heals completely.

In the beginning, the face will appear swollen and over-filled because of the extra fat that your surgeon may inject in the new location. It is usually done because not all of it survives in the new site. The final results will take about 3-4 months to show completely.

Though complications are rare, some of them can include seroma, fat embolism, fatty cysts, asymmetry, infection, and permanent discolouration due to the bruises. It is also possible that you may be unsatisfied with the results.
