View MoreThere Are Four Types Of Rhinoplasty :
1. CLOSED RHINOPLASTY
All incisions are hidden inside the nose with no external scars.
Advantages:
- No external visible incision or scar.
- Less post operative oedema
- Less surgical time
- Faster recovery
Disadvantages:
- Major changes in the nasal tip and the septal cartilage cannot be done.
- Used only for minor dorsal corrections.
All Rhinoplasty procedures are not the same. The procedure differs from case to case depending upon individual requirement.
Rhinoplasty is a technically demanding surgery and there is no tailor made steps to be followed in every case. To achieve optimal result, a surgeon should be well versed with the different techniques involved in Rhinoplasty.
After the initial decision to undergo Rhinoplasty, the next step is to decide which type of Rhinoplasty procedure is best in your case.

2. OPEN RHINOPLASTY
A small external incision is made at skin between nostrils called as columella. This incision is extended inside nostrils on each side.
The skin flap is elevated and a surgeon gets a good exposure of the bony and cartilaginous framework underneath and modify them under direct vision.
- It is the preferred method for Rhinoplasty in cases where extensive work is to be done to alter nasal framework.
- It is used for major and precise nose reshaping.
- It allows a surgeon to perform many useful techniques with more accuracy such as nasal tip modifications, spreader flap technique, harvesting of septal cartilage etc. and much more.

- It is a corrective Rhinoplasty done to change the form and / or function of nose after previous Rhinoplasty.
- The patients opt for a revision rhinoplasty if they are unhappy with the results or they seek further changes not originally desired.
- Sometimes a patient desires a “touch up” for minor issues.
- Most trained surgeons have a revision rate of about 10%.

4. LIQUID RHINOPLASTY OR NON-SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY
It is a non surgical method done by a plastic surgeon or a dermatologist for minor imperfections.
No incisions are made and a Hyaluronic Acid Filler injection is used. The most common type of filler used is Juvederm.
The drawback of choosing filler Rhinoplasty is that the results are not permanent. Over the time, the fillers eventually absorb reversing the changes and may require an additional procedure.
