Frequently Asked Questions
WILL THERE BE SCARRING AFTER THE LASER PEEL TREATMENT?
No, there is no scarring resulting from a laser peel procedure if performed by a qualified and experienced surgeon. However, individuals with a tendency to develop excessive scarring or keloids may not be an ideal candidate for this treatment.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER THE TREATMENT?
The type of laser used for the treatment and the size of the treated area will determine what you can expect after the treatment. Your skin may appear puffy and badly sunburnt, and there will also be some discomfort. Your doctor will guide you with instructions for taking care of your skin during the recovery period.
AT WHAT AGE CAN I GET A LASER PEEL DONE?
People of any age can get a laser peel done. If you have experienced skin damaged that’s caused by sun exposure, aging, or acne scars, you can get this treatment. Additionally, laser peel also helps in removing lesions, birthmarks, unwanted body hair, tattoos, and certain skin conditions like psoriasis and vitiligo.
WHEN CAN I GO OUT IN THE SUN AFTER THE TREATMENT?
After the laser peel treatment, your skin will remain pink for a couple of months, making it more suspectable to sun damage. Therefore, you should always protect it with a good sunscreen of at least 30 SPF while heading out, if at all it is necessary. You have to keep your skin away from direct or excessive sunlight for a year after the treatment.
